Kurt is an experienced asset management, operations, and engineering leader with a strong background in safety-critical energy infrastructure. His expertise spans asset performance, operational assurance, regulatory compliance, and long-term value optimisation, with a focus on delivering safe, reliable, and resilient operations across the asset lifecycle.
Kurt previously served as Principal Operations Manager at a £320m Energy from Waste facility in North Yorkshire, capable of processing up to 320,000 tonnes of waste per annum. In this role, he led and developed a team of more than 60 staff across three interdependent technologies, with responsibility for safety systems of work, operational consistency, and performance reporting, achieving best-in-class standards recognised by a globally respected insurer. He has over seven years’ operational experience in the Energy from Waste sector, progressing to become a qualified operator and Senior Authorised Person, with ownership of site safety rules and responsibility for training and appointing authorised personnel.
A qualified electrical engineer, Kurt brings hands-on experience in fault finding, planned preventative maintenance, and defect management on newly commissioned facilities. Alongside his operational leadership, he has over 16 years’ experience as a Microsoft specialist, designing secure IT infrastructures, business continuity arrangements, and bespoke automated systems to support KPI-driven performance and executive decision-making.
