Earls Gate Energy Centre

The Earls Gate Energy Centre is situated in Grangemouth, Scotland, at the heart of a thriving industrial hub, where it supports local manufacturing and contributes to Scotland’s energy infrastructure.

Project overview

Transforming waste, powering progress

The Earls Gate Energy Centre (EGEC) is a state-of-the-art Energy-from-Waste (EfW) facility in Grangemouth, Scotland, developed in partnership with Encyclis. EGEC plays a pivotal role in Scotland’s transition to sustainable waste management while delivering reliable, lower-carbon energy to the region.

This Combined Heat and Power (CHP) plant provides steam and electricity to local industries, supporting manufacturing and processing operations. Surplus electricity is exported to the National Grid, further enhancing its contribution to Scotland’s energy mix. The facility is operated and maintained by Kanadevia-Inova.

Construction was restarted by Brockwell Energy Services Ltd (BESL) as principal contractor in 2022, and EGEC is now fully operational, exemplifying our commitment to delivering impactful energy solutions.

Through efficient operations and compliance with strict environmental standards, the facility supports essential waste and energy infrastructure.

Community engagement and benefits

At EGEC, we’re committed to giving back to the Grangemouth community. Through our Community Support Initiatives, we’ve provided grants to local voluntary and community organisations since 2020. These contributions help strengthen community ties and support vital local services.
