We are delighted to announce that Brockwell Energy’s North Kyle Wind Farm has won the Sustainable Development Award at the Scottish Green Energy Awards 2025, hosted by Scottish Renewables.

This award recognises projects that deliver exceptional environmental, social and economic benefits - and North Kyle stood out as a transformational example of how renewable energy can support meaningful long-term regeneration.

Located in East Ayrshire, North Kyle Wind Farm is one of Scotland’s most ambitious onshore wind developments, repurposing a former coalfield area into a thriving landscape for clean energy generation, community benefit, and sustainable growth.

Neil Young, CEO of Brockwell Energy, said:

We are incredibly proud to receive the Sustainable Development Award for North Kyle. This recognition is a testament to the hard work, vision and collaboration of our team, our partners, and the local communities who have helped make this project possible. North Kyle demonstrates what can be achieved when renewable energy development goes hand in hand with lasting social and environmental benefit.

Richard Buckland, Head of Construction, added:

Delivering North Kyle has been a huge collaborative effort. The construction team, contractors, landowners and community partners have all played a vital role in bringing this project to life. To see that work celebrated at the Scottish Green Energy Awards is a fantastic moment for everyone involved.

The Scottish Green Energy Awards celebrate excellence across Scotland’s renewables sector, highlighting the people, organisations and projects driving the transition to a cleaner energy future. North Kyle was also a finalist in the Outstanding Project Award category, underlining the project’s significance and impact.

We would like to thank Scottish Renewables and the judging panel for this recognition and congratulate all finalists and winners helping shape Scotland’s sustainable future.
