East Park Energy Development Consent Order Application Accepted for Examination

1min to read
The National Planning Inspectorate has accepted Brockwell Energy’s East Park Energy Development Consent Order application

East Park Energy is a proposed 400 MW ground-mounted solar energy generating station and 100 MW battery energy storage system on land north-west of St Neots. The project forms part of our commitment to planning, building and operating quality renewable energy infrastructure in support of the UK’s net zero targets and national energy security.

We submitted our DCO application to PINS on 3 October 2025 and it has now been formally accepted for examination. This means that the project will move into the pre-examination phase in which an Examining Authority will be appointed, and all parties will prepare for the subsequent examination.

This is a significant milestone which is representative of the careful preparation, quality engagement and rigorous design work we have delivered to date. It brings us a step closer to realising the many project benefits, which include:

  • Generating enough low-carbon electricity to supply approximately 108,000 homes, more than the total homes in Bedford and St Neots combined
  • Delivering significant biodiversity improvements and landscaping to enhance the local environment and provide more diverse habitats and resilient ecological networks
  • Establishing a legacy fund that would provide financial contributions to local projects, ensuring that those living locally benefit from our plans

Our focus on the consenting process now shifts to the upcoming examination which will likely commence in early 2026. For more information and to review the full application, please visit www.eastparkenergy.co.uk.
