Brockwell Energy is an Independent Power Producer that originates, develops, constructs, owns and operates energy infrastructure projects across the UK.

A trusted renewable energy partner

Since 2017, Brockwell Energy has originated and developed more than £1 billion of UK energy infrastructure projects, with a growing pipeline across onshore wind, solar and battery storage. Our team brings together expertise across the full project lifecycle - from site identification and land agreements through to planning, financing, construction and operations.

Long-term, secure income

Renewable energy projects can provide stable, long-term revenue streams for landowners, helping to diversify business income and support future generations. Lease arrangements are typically structured over several decades, offering certainty and resilience in an evolving rural economy from index-linked rents.

We manage the development risk

Brockwell Energy fully funds the development process, including surveys, planning, environmental assessments and grid studies. We manage the technical and commercial complexity, reducing risk for landowners throughout the project lifecycle. Brockwell Energy will also pay for landowners' professional costs incurred during the development process.

We believe successful projects are built through meaningful engagement with landowners, communities, and other stakeholders. We work openly and collaboratively, ensuring projects are designed responsibly and with long-term local benefit in mind.

Opportunities for landowners

  • Onshore wind

    Onshore wind sites can generate significant long-term value while contributing to energy security and carbon reduction. We are seeking land to establish new wind farms, or to repower existing and maturing wind projects.

  • Solar energy

    Solar projects provide flexible opportunities for land diversification and are increasingly important in supporting the UK’s renewable energy mix. Sites can generate long-term value and some agricultural activities can continue under the panels.

  • Battery storage (BESS)

    Battery storage plays a critical role in balancing the electricity grid and supporting renewable generation. Due to recent UK Government grid connections reform policy, we are not seeking land for battery storage at present.

Is my land suitable?

Every site is different, but several factors help determine suitability for renewable energy development.

  • Wind energy

    We typically look for larger landholdings of open land or commercial woodland, with strong wind resource, good access, and proximity to grid infrastructure. An area of 300 acres or more is required (which can be more than one land ownership) to host a viable wind farm.

  • Solar energy

    Solar developments are generally best suited to relatively flat or gently sloping land with good sun light and nearby grid connectivity. An area of 30 acres or more is required to host a viable solar farm.

  • Battery storage

    Due to recent UK Government connection reform policy, we are not seeking land for standalone battery storage at present.
