Chalmerston Wind Farm

Chalmerston Wind Farm is a proposed 80-megawatt (80MW) wind farm development situated on the former Chalmerston Coal Mine in East Ayrshire, Scotland

Project overview

Restoring the land, powering the future

The Chalmerston Wind Farm will generate clean, renewable energy for export to the national electricity grid, supporting homes and businesses across Scotland and the UK. The development of new renewable energy sources is a key component of the fight against climate change and will help to ensure our energy independence at a time of significant international uncertainty.

The project will support the restoration of the former Chalmerston opencast mine, transforming former industrial land through renewable energy. Building on Brockwell Energy’s work in Ayrshire, the Chalmerston Wind Farm aims to deliver long-term benefits for the local community.
